Sweet Structures
Landmark buildings often reflect a community’s history, values, and achievements—from the Eiffel Tower’s intricate iron lattice to the Statue of Liberty’s iconic presence and the bold engineering of landmark bridges. These structures often rely on strong shapes like triangles to ensure stability and strength.
Inspired by these examples, the children explored how simple forms can create complex constructions. Using marshmallows and toothpicks, they built towers, bridges, and other imaginative structures—experimenting with triangular shapes to make their creations both playful and strong.
