Reimagining Jesmonite library
How to make our library green
How can we make our local library more environmentally friendly? In this workshop, students learned about energy, sustainability, and biodiversity in buildings. They toured the library with floorplans in hand, annotating observations as they went, and discussed architectural features like green roofs, solar panels, and natural ventilation. Inspired by these ideas, each child imagined a greener future for the library.
Using simplified roof plans and 3D line drawings as a base, they illustrated and modelled their visions—transforming the space with eco-friendly upgrades like rooftop gardens, solar installations, and green walls.
