Reimagining Jesmonite library
How to make our library fun
What makes a space feel welcoming and fun? To reimagine the interior of their local library, students read Number 7 Evergreen Street, a story that explores how shared spaces can bring people together. Inspired by the book and their own ideas, they proposed ways to transform the library’s atmosphere through playful design.
They created colourful proposals for a new carpet using paper collage, then worked together on a collaborative mural made from woven surfaces using coloured paper—taking inspiration from textile artists like Anni Albers. The final designs reflect joy, imagination, and a sense of belonging.
